i’ve just finished a playthrough of the original gears trilogy. they’ve aged a bit but they still hold up as great tps. they do the whole balls-against-the-wall, humanity clinging on for dear life against total annihilation type thing really well. the pacing is great, the combat satisfying, the atmosphere gritty and there’s some real memorable moments.
